At present, the demands of society towards law enforcement in Ukraine are increasing. Professionalism requires the certain set of knowledge, skills and abilities. At the same time, the availability of personal qualities, corresponding to the specifics of the work, is of great importance. But the reform of the law-enforcement system poses new requirements not only to the personality of the police officer, but also to the educational conditions in which such a person is formed. The content and technology of the new police education should be aimed at creating such psychological characteristics of the personality of future professionals that will ensure the formation of professional competence and actualization of personal and professional resources of law enforcement officers. The system of psychological support for the training of law enforcement officers in this case serves as a specific type of activity, which has attributive features of the active mediation of personal development. After all, only taking into account the nature of the personality traits and activities we can predict the professional growth of a future specialist. In turn, a holistic view of the essence and content of the system of psychological support for the training of law enforcement may be formed on the basis of a clear definition of the main psychological goals of this process. In the course of our research, the experts identified the most important qualities that the law-enforcement officers need: the anti-corruption orientation, the anticorruption culture, the decision-making ability, the officers self-regulation, the reflection, the tolerance to uncertainty, the constructive strategies of overcome, the prognostic ability, and the optimal level of responsibility. The received list of professionally important qualities and personality traits became the basis for designing a system of psychological support for the training of law enforcement officers.
