Empathy as a facilitative mechanism of personality self-realization

Abstract

The article presents theoretical grounding of empathic determination of personality self-realization and empirical study of facilitative features of effective self-realization in motivational, communicative, personality and behavioral characteristics of a personality. Theoretical grounding of the problem emphasizes consideration of self-realization as a positively motivated activity, which expresses the tendency of rationalization of own life activity. It is emphasized that the all positive aspects of life realization unfold in the human empathic sphere. The significance of facilitative determination of the content-target and structural components of empathic interaction has been revealed. The developed program of empirical study, as well as the complex of used methods of mathematical processing of the research results make it possible to concretize the facilitative profiles of the empathic sphere of students, differentiated by the level of their personality maturity: students with high indicators of personality maturity demonstrate the empathic characteristics of positive settings towards other people, the expressed moral awareness and emotional identification; their motivational, communicative, personality and behavioral characteristics contain the complex of facilitative features, that are localized in the area of motivational realization of assisting relationships in the form of expressed altruism and hypersocial settings; students with low indicators of personality maturity in the empathic sphere are defined by focus on other people, emotional identification and personality reflection; their motivational, communicative, personality and behavioral characteristics contain the complex of facilitative features that are predominantly localized in the communicative realization zone in the form of balance, openness, activity and friendliness. The special dominant status of motivational characteristics of facilitative determination as well as the necessity are indicated, that are fixed among students with high indicators of personality maturity.
