Experience of testing of questionnaire "identity / marhinalizm" for sample ov engineering workers

Abstract

The article notes that the new requirements for engineering and technical employees concern the high level of professional and psychological preparedness, in particular the formation of professional identity, which plays a key role in professional success. The aim of the study was to investigate the identity of the employees by the questionnaire "Identity / marginality". The Ukrainian commercial companies’ employees (n = 180) were examined: 90 professional engineers, and 90 specialists of humanities – and the comparative analysis by this questionnaire was performed. Statistically significant differences were found for the indicators "Professional and Society" (U = 2347,500; p <0,001), "Social and profession" (U = 1637,500; p <0,001), "Professional motivation" (U = 3160, 500; p = 0,010), "Professional deed" (U = 1892,500; p <0,001), "Career" (U = 3400,000; p = 0,050), "An alternative choice" (U = 3038,000; p = 0.003), "To be or to seem” (U = 3102,500; p = 0,005). It is established that for engineering and technical employees professional competence score depends on factors such as the "morality" (β = 0,302; p = 0,050) and the "To be or to seem” (β = 0,402; p = 0,002).
